This weekend was the final stop in the Revolt Summer Surf Series. The contest was held down in Pacific Beach at the Crystal Pier. If you have never been there it is nuts! It almost reminds me of a Venice Beach type vibe, the town has every type of person you can imagine on hand.
The waves were not exactly firing but the boys were making the most of the conditions thats for sure. Taking home the big win and the new Aviso was crowd favorite Eric McHenry. Eric is an amazing surfer and a bitchin guy in general so I was super stoked to see him pull it off.
After the contest we rushed up to La Jolla to visit our good friend and shaper Tim Bessell. Tim is always a blast to be around. He is a great shaper, sick artist, and really a wonderful all around craftsmen. You can always stop by his shop right behind 7-11 near Wind-n-Sea to check out his lineup. He took us down to pick off a couple before dark and we had a blast!
I rode the 5`9 RNF 08 and even though its a lot bigger than what I would usually ride ( the 5`5 is an all time favorite of mine) it was amazing. The quads just drive you through your turns with so much speed. Once you lock in your turn its over. Everyone got there fair share and we decided to retire back to the pad and leave Tim to enjoy the rest of his evening!
