The 5`1 is almost done!
Cole is almost done with the plug for the 5`1 Cole/Aviso BD3! Cole has done it again, the board looks truly amazing!! He had to have spent about three hours today perfecting the quad-bonzer bottom. I could not believe the time he put into it. After watching him today I have even more respect for what it takes to create such a work of art. It was really a beautiful thing to see!
Here are a handful of shots I snapped off in the shaping room. Check back tomorrow for more pics…
Coming Soon…
Responding to the demand for a trunkboard that would fill the gap between the 5`0 and 5`2, Cole started work today on a 5`1 BD3 plug. Personally I am very excited about this board. While I love the 5`0 and the 5`2, I have always felt that the ideal BD3 for me (at 6`0, 165lbs.) would be something right in the middle of the two boards. This new model should fall right in that range. Here are a few shots I took of Cole this morning checking out the plug and getting ready to dig in!
NakiSurf and Cole
Here are a few pictures I snapped when I was out and about today. The first few shots are of Taro and the NakiSurf crew. The rest of the shots I snapped down at Cole`s shop this evening… Take care and have a great weekend!!
More shots of Slater on the 5`0 Cole AVISO
Kelly Slater riding the 5`0 Cole AVISO!
Check out these shots of the nine time, and current world champ riding the 5`0 Cole AVISO over the weekend at his brothers invitational event in Cocoa Beach, FL.
I guess Jeremy Johnston was down at the contest representing on his 5`0 when Kelly came up to him on the beach.
He told him that the 5`0 Cole Aviso was the sickest board that he had ever seen and asked to try it out.
Kelly went on to take the heat and the contest, while Jeremy made it to the quarterfinals.
Check back soon for more pics as they come to us…

Trunk Board Madness
Here are some lifestyle shots that I took of Christian over the last few days with my iphone. We have been putting the 5`0 and the new 5`2 through the ringer and I have got to tell you that it is one of the most amazing and versatile boards that I have ever ridden. Christian has been a huge fan of the 5`0 since its release, even claiming it was one of his favorite all time boards! Then yesterday we pulled out the 5`2 down at San O and the kid paddles out and just starts flying down the line doing the sickest turns! I swear the second that he stood up the thing just took off!!
After watching him go nuts on a few waves we had to split so Christian could get ready for a short notice mission down to Scorpion with his good friend Pickle. He is going to take the 5`0 so I am sure he will have some great stories and hopefully a few shots for us upon his return. Anyway after dropping Christian and meeting up with Aviso warrior Dave Woods, it was time to run back down the trail and put the 5`2 through another round of R and D!
The moment I paddled out I felt this huge smile spread across my face! The board literally paddles like a dream and glides like you would not believe! I was able to catch any wave that I wanted, and had no problem pivoting through my turns. The board just blew my mind! At firs I thought that it might be too much board for me because I love way the 5`0 skates down the wave for me but the extra volume really changed the whole experience for me. The 5`2 paddles in like a funboard but turns like a shortboard. It truly bends the line between form and function, and does so with outstanding effect!
My hat goes off to Cole, John, Naki and all of the people who were instrumental in bringing this dream board to life. Now go get one and try it for yourself, I promise you wont regret it!!
Also check back later in the week for some clips of Christian ripping!
