I think I have said it here before but New Smyrna Beach kind of reminds me of the dirty south version of San Clemente, and I mean that in the best possible way. Today the waves were a lot smaller than the last few days but it was still ridable at most spots. My friend Ray and I got some little waves down the trail around midday before the wind picked up and then I ended up taking a hot yoga class at this cool little studio that just opened up off of Pico here in San Clemente called OceanaFit. We have been seeing a solid run of storms and swell since last week here in Southern California. As soon as we thought winter was over the rain came back and primed up the sandbars, and the swells started rolling through.  It has been all about timing though, so keep your eyes peeled for the changes in wind. It just could be blowing offshore and barreling at that beach break that was onshore closeouts an hour ago…

Here is another proud new Aviso owner I met up with today. Thats Daniel on the left with his brand new 5`5 Aviso Round Nose Fish and his friend John on the right. They are  in town from Brazil and were smart enough to pick up an Aviso on the trip.  It was great to see them so stoked, and I know that board will treat him well for many years to come!

The waves were super fun today at most of the beaches in town! Kolohe and all the groms were out throwing fins and pushing things. There were a couple of barrels to be had but mostly just wedging peaks, super fun though. Should be a smaller in the morning but then bump back up thursday…

Couple shots of the Aviso Grasshopper in action at the San Clemente Pier. I think I have it set up as a quad fin this day. Such a fun and easy board to surf. I highly recommend it, especially for the less than perfect surf we have here in California most of the time…
