The high pressure system that was keeping winds at bay the last few days broke down today and Southern California saw a marine layer settle in. Tomorrow the swell should back off a bit but conditions are suppose to clean back up as well. Things are still looking promising for this weekend as well, so stay loose out there and get ready…

In another state of mind
Most of California saw good surf once again today along with excellent conditions, especially here in San Clemente. The first of the two majors swells forecast to hit our coast should continue to fill in overnight and tomorrow sould see solid overhead plus surf a top spots. Watch out for extreme tides tomorrow with the full moon and plan your session accordingly. Take care out there and have fun!
Swell comes back up as the anticipation mounts…
The swell picked back up today in Southern California, with chest to head high surf at most spots. Once again it was just a picture perfect day, with temperatures in the seventies and clean conditions. It is so nice to have a good run of surf and there is still plenty more to come…
Great weather, fun waves continue. Looks like more on the way!
Today saw another beautiful day here in San Clemente, with slightly smaller surf on tap at most spots. It looks as though this week could be pretty interesting though from the looks of things. Reports are still a little hazy, but so far here is how things look to be shaping up for Southern California. Tomorrow expect fun surf in the chest high range, depending on location.
Tuesday and into Wednesday we should have a fairly large NW swell hitting the coast. Stand out spots could see solid overhead surf from this swell. We could then see and an even larger NW pound the coast next weekend if the models hold up. I will be back tomorrow with more, but here are a few shots from this past weekend!
Epic weather, fun waves for California!
Today we were blessed with some fun waves and amazing weather here in Southern California. The waves were in the waist to chest high range , and my new Aviso Grasshopper was working insane! I am off to the closing party for the Rib Trader, a local watering hole that has been in San Clemente for as long as I can remember, that has finally had to call it quits. Hope you all have a great night, take care and go get some waves tomorrow…
Have a groovy weekend!
The weekend is here and out west in California we are expecting a beautiful weekend as high pressure sets up over the area. Also there should be surf up and down the coast to really top it off! Here are some shots of Donavon from our friend Naki to help put you in the mood for a groovy weekend…
My boys in Mexico
Waves go flat in SC
The waves were flat here today in town but it gave me a chance to get some work done, which should in turn lead to some more time in the water when this next swell comes through in a few days. I am so amped to surf again on my new Grasshopper that it has invaded my dreams. Also I wanted to send out a Happy Birthday to our good friend Dave Woods down in Pacific Beach. Go check him out at his shop Rail 2 Rail, right down by the roller coaster. Thanks for checking in and have a beautiful day!
Grasshopper at Lowers!
I had the chance to run down to Lowers for an hour today and get a few waves on the new Aviso Grasshopper. The waves were small but I was excited to try out my new board so my friend and I decided to rush it anyway. When we got there there were only two people out, and both ended up geting out right away. Even though the waves were small it was so great to get in the water and surfing Lowers by ourselves always makes for an amazing day. I rode the new 5`7 Aviso Grasshopper by Cole and it worked great in the less than impressive surf. I rode it as a three fin (thruster) today, and cant wait to ride it next as a quad once I get some new fins tomorrow. Be back with more soon, hope you have a great evening!
Donavon on Glow tour
Donavon is on tour over in Japan right now, and took a break from promoting his new album Glow to get in a few waves with the NakiSurf crew. Here are a few shots of Donavon on the Aviso New Toy by Doc!
