Classic California Day

Today was such an amazing day! I ended up at Rincon after checking a few other spots in the area, and it was definitely one of the best days I have ever surfed there.  The crowd was pretty heavy, but if you got one to yourself, it was all worth it…

After surfing for a few hours, I went up and got some snack`s from the car and decided it was just too good to leave so I paddled back out for another session!  After catching a few more waves my arms started to turn to jello so I hightailed it south and slipped through LA just before traffic, getting back to SC in 2 1/2 hours flat. I even had time to score some In-N-Out and get my animal style fix on the way. All in another classic California day!

Swell picking up in Southern California from SC to SB. France going off as well…

Here are a few shots I took down at Uppers this morning and at Little Rincon this afternoon… I rode my new 5`9 Cole Fireblade today and had two amazing session`s!  I am so stoked on this board, it is exceeding all my expectations by a mile!  I think this might be my new go to board for solid point break surf. It drives crazy in the barrel and turns amazing. Check back tomorrow for more, I am staying up in Santa Barbara tonight, then its off to Rincon for low tide tomorrow, and maybe see if El Cap is breaking…

Some shots of Naki in Japan

Here are a few shots from Naki`s trip to Japan over the last few weeks.  Looks like he got some fun waves, then arrived home today in Hawaii to the buoys running 17 feet @ 17 seconds!

Also in case you have not heard, we should have a major swell hitting California later on in the week.  If the hype machine is right, it could be one of the biggest swell`s of our lifetime. We will see what happens, hopefully the weather will cooperate and it wont be too stormy when the swell does show its face…

Three SC boys in the big league`s next year!

It is official now with the last event of the WQS season in the books, three of San Clemente`s finest made it into the bigs for the 2010 season! Pat Gudauskas and Nate Yeomans were pretty much locked in before Sunset, but Pat`s younger brother Tanner had a crazy run and ended up in the quarters, assuring him a spot on the `CT this year!  Congratulations Boys, we will be rooting for you!

East Coast Love

New Smyrna Beach is kind of like the San Clemente of the East Coast, which is probably why some of my favorite people on the right coast come from this little drinking town with a surfing problem. Here are two of NSB`s favorite sons riding there carbon fiber Aviso`s. The first shot is of John Perkins on his 5`10 Cole Firefly, and the second is of Casey Collins (sorry for the typo Collins!) riding his 5`6 Lost RNF down in South Beach. Also check out their latest video collaboration Mealticket, you wont regret it…
