Here are a few pics from the first stop of the Revolt Summer Surf Series. Check back later today for more shots from the event and the full write up….
The third annual Revolt Summer Surf Series starts tomorrow down at the Crystal Pier in PB! We are also going to be hosting an Aviso Surfboard demo starting around 8am. This year promises to be the best yet, with a number of new sponsors jumping on board. There are beach signups as well for the contest, so if you are interested but have not had a chance to reserve your spot, get down there early to get your entry in!
Also here are a list of the boards that we will have down at the beach to demo…
5`2 Cole BD3, 5`5 Doc New Toy, 5`5 Lost RNF, 5`10 Cole Firefly, 6`0 Lost RNF, 6`1 JJ, 6`4 JJ, 6`6 Doc Battail, 7`0 Rusty Moby Fish, 9`0 CJ Nelson Arrow
Here are a few more shots from the International Surfing Day (ISD) event up at Brookhurst street up in HB on Saturday.
There was actually quite a good turnout, especially considering the fact that it was raining on and off all morning. I almost turned around and went home, thinking that it would get rained out, but I am glad that I didnt!
There were a number of people displaying there goods and giving away gear from Doc, to Vans, to the event organizer, Surfing Magazine. Hundreds of people showed up to help clean the beach, grab a free t-shirt and test out the latest and greatest from Doc, including the new 5`5 Doc Aviso!
The 5`5 was in the water from the moment that I brought it down, to the moment I left! From 16 year old groms to 4o year old vets, the New Toy is definitely making a name for itself. Multiple people agreed that it was the best board they rode that day, and I even had a few people tell me about how they have been riding there New Toy religiously since Doc released that model a year or two back!
After the event up in Huntington Beach, I headed back down south to San Clemente to get ready for our friends party. My roommates band The Secret People played for a packed house, and everyone celebrated Summer Solstice in style! Even Cole showed up for a bit with his wife Dana, which is always a blast!! Here are a few pics I snapped off..
Also Summer is now in full swing so get those grovelers ready. Now more than ever you will appreciate that BD3, New Toy , or RNF when u are catching all the waves and your friends are bogging on their shortboards!!
How classic is this shot that Nuno just sent over. Nuno is the man over in Portugal, and was kind enough to host our good friend Alex over at SurfingEurope last week! I guess they got some decent surf, and from the looks of things they had a blast!!
I hear that the waves in Portugal are truly world class, and Nuno has sent me many shots to prove it. He just got a new Aviso 5`5 Lost RNF last week thanks to his good friend Jose, who also picked up a new 5`2 BD3 Aviso for himself. Thanks for the support guys, and I hope to see you all soon!
The waves were pumping again today, the weather was amazing, and tempers were at an all time high!
I am beat right now from my second session down the trail today on my new 5`5 Doc Aviso so I am going to keep it short and sweet, but here are a few pictures I snapped off this morning.
Lately my posts have been pretty sporadic so I am going to try and get back on everyday, even if its just to post a quick pic and say hello!
I will be back tomorrow with more about Sea Walk`s trip to Japan, the new 5`5 Doc”New Toy” and more…
We got some fun waves down at Uppers today an I hear that it should be filling in even more over the next few days. It was a little closed out but still really fun!
Also I got my 5`5 New Toy yesterday and had the chance to paddle it out twice today! The board works really well, and I cant wait to really get tuned in on the thing and see how it goes. I think that this board has a great design, and really has a lot of versatility with the fin options. The board itself is a full on groveler with its short, wide outline. However most guys that are scared of a wide stubby nose will be stoked on the pointy shortboard style nose of the new toy. That way its not that much of a leap from your regular board, but the thing will allow you to get speed and fit in spots that a standard size board never would.
I am going to get the board in the water over the next few days and really put it to the test, but so far I am really stoked on this model. I have been wanting to try a New Toy for a while now, because everyone that has ridden one raves about it. Finally with the addition of the 5`5 I now have my chance! I will be back with more tomorrow…
Christian Wach is over in Japan right now hanging out with Naki, Donavon and the rest of the crew. They attended the Greenroom Festival last week, went to the premiere of Picaresque, hit up the NakiSurf Demo, and yesterday Christian took second place to Bonga Perkins in an ASP sanctioned event! What a trip so far!!
Now they are going to some remote Island off the coast of Japan to try and score some surf and put the 5`5 New Toy and the 5`1 Cole to the test! As soon as I hear more I will be back with the full update, but here are a few shots from Naki in the meantime…
