Well its always nice when the waves and the weather come together like they did over the last few days! Today the high pressure system started to break down a bit, but conditions were clean all morning.
Lots of waves to be had the last few days...
Also I spent some time with Christian Wach before be split to go to Norway to shoot a piece for Outside Magazine with Yazzy and crew. The kid has only been back from Oz for a few days and now he is off to go camp and surf in the snow for ten days!
Usually I would follow that up by saying what a lucky 19 year old he is but in this case CWach deserves every bit of it. The kid has worked his ass off, made it through tougher times than most can imagine, and through it all he has carved out his niche as one of the most versatile up and coming surfers on the planet. He was recently featured in the hot 100 from Surfer Mag, which says a lot when you consider he is the only guy on the list who surfs anything but a standard thruster 99 percent of the time.
Anyway here he is throwing his new ultra-light 5`0 Cole/Aviso BD3 in his Nakisurf bag. Check back for more on his trip here on the Aviso Blog and in an upcoming issue of Outside Magazine…
Bagging it up for Norway
5`0 BD3, the easiest board in the world to travel with!
Check out this beautifully lit shot of Ian Rotgans on his 6`0 Cole/Aviso Diamond Tail. This shot was run in the last issue of The Surfers Journal, and was taken by our friend Anthony Ghiglia. Thanks Anthony for letting us put the shot up on the blog! Anyway, check back soon for more of Ian ripping his carbon fiber!
Here is a interview with our good friend and Aviso designer/shaper Tim Bessell. Tim is a wonderful person to be around, not to mention a great all around designer and artist. From eco-friendly houses, to wind turbines to the most state of the art surfboards on the planet, Tim is always on the cutting edge! Check it out and let us know what you think!
Check out these shots of Adam D`Esposito on his Aviso at Chopes. Bif is the man, he spends half the year in Hawaii and half in Tahiti, so needless to say he probably gets more barrels in a year than most of us will get in our whole lives. I hear from my friend Rusty Long that he is an amazing guy (not to mention one hell of a surfer), and being that Rusty is one of the most solid dudes I know, Im believing the hype. How could I not after seeing these shots if him pulling in on his 6`4 JJ/Aviso?
What! Bif pushing it on his 6`4 Aviso by Jeff Johnston...
