Well we got some good waves up and down the coast today. The high pressure system that has been lingering off the coast of California started to break down a bit, but most places were still clean throughout the day. I rode my trunkboard down at Lowers today with a new fin set up and was blown away! I had one of my best sessions yet on my BD3. I will write some more about it tomorrow but right now I am beat! Here is a shot of the trunkboard to froth over and a beautiful shot of the sunset today over by North Beach in SC…
Well the swell filled in a little bit more but unless you wanted to head down the trail to slug it out with the rest of the weekend warriors it was definitely a good day to get out of San Clemente. I ended up surfing down in North County San Diego and it was well worth the drive. It was a little closed out but it was still head high and off shore until the afternoon so at least that was better than couch surfing all day. I guess we can expect a bit more of the same tomorrow. I would say that it should be less crowded but nobody seems to work anymore around here anyway so your guess is as good as mine:)
West Coast buoy reading for Sunday night
Southern California buoy reading for Sunday night... Hopefully some more swell will sneak in tomorrow!
Well most of the buoys is California are going off even though its still about 1-2 here in So Cal… With any luck there will be some more activity down here in the morning. Whatever happens there is definitely something to be had if you have a car and know where to look. Here is the buoy readings from this evening and the weather for the week ahead. We should have good weather for at least the next few days, followed by some rain later in the week so take advantage of the conditions while you can…
Here are a few shots of Dave Rastavich on a recent billabong trip with Andy, Parko, Taj and crew that were up on Surfline today… You can see his trusty Aviso in the quiver shot of all the guys boards, shining like a diamond in the rough:)
Rasta taking a break from saving the whales to save a stranded coconut...
Just like my quiver... minus about 25 boards
